...why are things still screwed up?

I got the cruise book thingy that has all the cruise data in it last night. We're going up 5 days early as I've a friend that moved up to Anchorage a few years ago and we want to visit with her. Apparently, there was a miscommunication about what date we were leaving and the air tickets are for a day early...a day I don't have in vacation time off. So, I got the cruise people to book us for the right day...for the lovely fee of $430. That so sucks, but I've no choice. If I call in 'sick' I've not enough days to cover the back end of the trip and work could possibly deny my vacation...and let's not even go there. I can't be angry anymore, I've passed through denial and barganing to acceptance. I'm just not surprised by any of this.

Also, I'm sitting here wanting to update my palm Lifedrive and hesitating because I fear it'll get screwed up somehow. If I disappear again for a week, at least you'll have an inkling why.

The Merc Retro periods sometimes 'wash into' the following days. This Merc Retro was particularly bad; I've been experiencing a lot of the usual MR problems, and so has everyone else I know. I know two people who had major telephone problems, for example.

I didn't used to pay any attention to Merc Retro until a few years ago, when it became obvious that any time the computer/phone equipment at work screwed up in a major way, it was during Merc Retro. It was so consistent I've started calendaring MR periods, just to be forewarned.
