Interesting. I've watched all the debates save one, and I don't recall being impressed by Chris Dodd at all. Or Bill or Barak. Can't stand Rudy, Tom or Mitt.

I've got a few days off; will put up Xmas lights and do Xmas cards. I hope. I also need to tackle the kitchen floor. :(

It rained today! Wow. A whole inch or two. I walked down the hill to get the mail and slipped on some wet leaves, it was like hitting ice on a down hill slope. I thought I was in a cartoon as I over corrected, twisted one way, pirouetted, teetered, grabbed at a bush and finally landed on my right side, mostly on my right side. It smarted, and was cold and wet, not to mention quite leafy. That was about six hours ago and now my right upper arm is sore, shoulder too, and a little bit about the elbow. We shall see what the morning brings. Maybe I won't be doing the Xmas lights after all.

Uh, as for LJ, I decided I'm not that corrupting (more's the pity) and will leave my lj as not adult content and hopefully remember to change that rating for a post should I ever get around to posting something wicked.

I'm being a good lil' voter and am currently watching the Republican YouTube debate on Tivo. :::sigh::: Oops, I guess it ran over time and it cut off Rudy. Too bad. *g* I have to roll my eyes at all the shots they took at Hilary. When they do that, they remind me of little dogs barking a big dog on the other side of a strong fence. Yeah, yeah, yeah...you're bad. :::snort:::

SGA was quite good tonight. I hope they bring Jeannie back again next year, too. Read more... )

Criminal Minds was very interesting what with the whole graphic novel look and the confusion in the reality thing. Read more... )

I now watched two eps of Blood Ties. I just don't get the attraction for it! Enlighten me.

I'm watching the Colbert Report and he has this quote on there from the Oct 07 issue of GQ: "What is the greatest threat facing us now? People will say it's terrorism. But are there any terrorists in the world who can change the American way of life or our political system? No. ...Only we can change ourselves."

I've watched every debate so far that I can. If I could, I'd ask the candidates, "if elected, how will you restore our government's system of checks and balances? And will you repair the damage done to our constitution?"

Would you like to peruse Enron's email? Go to here:
http://www.enronemail.com/

You have to register first, though. I'm waiting for them to send me my login verification. Apparently there is wildly offensive stuff in there with the incrimminating stuff. I'm curious and have 30 minutes to kill.

I should be going out to grocery shop so I can get back in time to weed some more. I weed during the last 1-2 hours of daylight when it's not so hot. I should go now. Instead, I'm watching National Geographic channel, currently I'm seeing just what happened with the flooding in New Orleans and the list of pollutants is staggering. Strangely enough, this is not nearly as bad as the program on before it about how 95% of life was wiped out during the Permian period. Volcanos in Sibera raised the temperatures five degrees and when the oceans temperatures raised, some sort of methane gas was released that killed off all ocean life. This greenhouse gas raised the temps another five degrees and voila, 95% of all life is gone.

On the news last night, they mentioned that temperatures in California have been raised five degrees in the last 100 years. Al Gore was on Letterman last night talking about global warming. That really brilliant scientist that is wheelchair, Stephen Hawking, thinks it's imperative that mankind colonize the moon and Mars because something catastrophic is lurking about here on Earth.

Things aren't looking so good, you know?

I'm going now, venturing out into the heat. Perhaps hard, sweaty work will lift my spirits? :::sigh:::

First, I was delighted that Wallace & Gromit won an Oscar. Yay!!

Second, I finally watched Inferno. It seems Sheppard is finally developing a personality. Too bad it's one I don't like. What a jerk.

Third, looks like the offspring of fathers raping their daughters are now protected in South Dakota. Now that's progress!

Mom just showed me something she recieved from the Social Security Administration. It states after deductions for Medicare, she will get $499/month. It also states she has not elected to have federal taxes taken out, voluntarily. Which pretty much says that next year she will be required to pay Federal income tax on her income of less than $6,000 for the year. WTF?!

This is so typical! Bush gets tax cuts for the very rich, meanwhile they will be taxing SS income? Actually, she just showed me another paper than indicated if her total income was over $25,000 she would have to pay taxes. Now, isn't that a lovely taxpayer for Bush? If you make $25,000 and are retired (but aren't a member of the Very Rich) then you need to get off your affluent fat asses and pay your share! Mom just stormed out of the room muttering that Bush is a traitor and that he cares nothing for the people, only his rich friends.

Bush has turned the U.S. upside down in only 5 years. Who could have imagined such drastic changes on all fronts in so short a time?
