Luxor Las Vegas

I was watching CSI last night and wondered what the hell the Luxor had done to the outside of their pyramid. I went to wikipedia and was very distressed to learn they're remodeling the thing and stripping nearly all the ancient Egyptian stuff from the property. I'm heartsick. I loved that hotel and all the really cool stuff.

I'm betting the owners wish like hell they didn't own a pyramid. I think that's self-evident when they put up three huge advertising billboards on the sides of the pyramid. I'm betting it's first inline of the Mirage MGM properties to be exploded.

Why can't I burn a SPN episode to disk?

I tivo'd Lucifer Rising and just watched it. A friend I'll be seeing at MediaWest Con, her VCR didn't capture the sound and now she'd like to see the episode, so I thought I'd burn a copy. The first half recorded fine, but it won't record the 3rd quarter hour for about the first 3 minutes. It tells me: "Copy-protected. Cannot record."

Is there a way to get around this? How long has this been going on?

Mountain wildflowers!

Yesterday, Mom and I drove up Mt. Baldy to test the ear again. I'd noticed last time that there were a lot of flowers in bloom, so I dragged Mom with me for a nice little drive. We started from Upland, drove all the way to the ski lift, came back to part way and then took the Glendora Mt. Road.
