Here's a theory about Kerry and Jack's 'breakup:'

A friend had a great theory about that scene where Kerry and Jack split up. Kerry comes into his office, states how much she likes her job there and confirms that their breaking up won't impact her job. Almost as an after thought on her way out, she says she knows what he should do and that is retire. I did think that Jack looked more alert and considering as he waited for her advice. The friend thought it was very pertinent that Kerry brought up that there had been a civilian leader of the SGC before. She felt that Kerry was wanting Jack's job and Jack was very much aware of it. That Kerry had slept with Jack to get inside info and maybe an angle to work to get her promotion. That maybe Jack could see that the hint of an improper relationship with a subordinate would be used against him by Kerry to get him to leave the SGC. Jack didn't look all that emotionally devasted, and actually, not that surprised by her actions and words. One wonders if maybe he was on to her shenanigans long before the 'breakup.'

I really like this theory. I like a strong, canny Jack and that passiveness just seems wrong, wrong, wrong. Rather than think RDA is displaying a lack of acting skills, I wonder if he is actually being more subtle than some folks give him credit for. Jack's reaction after Kerry leaves does show a variety of emotions. He looks rather smothered at one point and gives a quick upward glance. My theory would be that he feels very pressured from Kerry, from Carter, from the mess beyond the 'gate to the political pressures above him on the chain of command. I think his little glance upwards is a small glimpse into his anxiety/despair that Daniel is missing and how he wishes he was back. Maybe he wouldn't feel so smothered if he had his best friend and his own private 2IC by his side.

That makes about 5,000 times more sense.

RDA's expressions really support this theory. I suppose the writers meant that Kerry was suggesting that Jack quit and then take this same job as a civilian, but it wasn't that clear. And he would still be in a relationship with someone subordinate to him, which is just as frowned upon in the private sector as the military but they don't court martial you for it.

No, that wasn't clear and makes no sense. Jack doesn't have the same skills as Sam, Daniel, or Teal'c. He is good at the job, mind you, but more in the field, then at a desk, so I'm not that sure about them keeping him on as a civilian.

Of course, I didn't understand Weir in the first place. Wow, she speaks five whole languages and writes treaties. And there are no other people on earth that speak say, over 23 languages, some of them alien, and say, also write treaties, with aliens. That pissed me off.

Oh, right, that was the other reason I can't see Sam and Jack. If Jack retires and they hook up, every pomotion Sam got while at the SGC will look suspect, not to mention every command decision Jack gave will probably be reviewed. It would create a huge mess. And you're correct, they would still not have carte blanche to omg date yay! *rolls eyes*

Which I know also applies to Daniel, but I'm still vaguely unclear on how much of a subordinate Daniel really is to Jack. Hell, I'm not sure how much control Jack exercises over any of them, but other than the, no, you can't go to Atlantis, Daniel does almost anything he wants. I'm rationalizing, I know. I am a slave to my OTP.

Jack is great in the field. I think he probably has the inside track to the SGC because Thor is so sweet on him.

Good point about Weir. I know she was just supposed to be a Kinsey puppet, but it's so glaring how much the writers diss Daniel. His resume was so much better than Weir, but they just couldn't praise her enough, even to the point of having Daniel be so impressed by her.

Jack and Sam. It has become sordid and a blight on the reputation of two good officiers. And for what reason?

Jack has more control/influence over Daniel now than he did in the first few years, but Daniel really does just what he wants if he thinks it's important. I think that's why Jack is so twitchy. *g*

All hail Thor.

I think it's your point about wearing glasses. You just can't get any respect if you do. Yes, Daniel did seem impressed by her, but then I felt, just kind of ran right over. I love him.

Jack and Sam. Just ick at this point.

*giggles* Yes, poor Jack, your boyfriend is kind of all over the place and you can't do much about it. He can't even keep as much of an eye on him anymore. I'm actually kind of shocked that he hasn't made Daniel move in with him again just so he can keep track of him.

No kidnappings this week. Good week. Here's some expensive coffee Daniel. Then again with the rate people break into Jack's house, that might be pointless.

I think that's what happens right after S8 ends. They are all at the cabin. Teal'c gets tired of being mosquito bit about the same time Sam get bored to death with the quiet and non-productiveness. They leave together. Daniel stays because he's still sorting out his memories, and dying again, and maybe his priorties in life now that Annubis and the replicators are gone.

Jack is quietly supportive in a guy type of way and waits for his moment when he can make his move. *g* Daniel doesn't stand a chance.

Good point about the break ins at Jack's house. I think he allows it now because it breaks the routine, but he'll put a stop to it once Daniel moves in.

*squeals like the five year old I am*

Daniel: I need a new path in life.

Jack: It just so happens I have one for ya.

*Suspicious Daniel look*

Daniel does not stand a chance. Awww. And yes, Jack will lock the door once Daniel is there. And if someone threatens his guy, they will be shot first, then asked questions.

Heh heh heh. *g*

Actually, Jack may just as well invite Teal'c to stay at the house, too. No one would look after Daniel as well as Teal'c. Yep, all three guys together again.

Btw, there's a threesome story that was never posted. It was written for me, but this excellent writer never finished it to her satisfaction and now probably never will. I think it's pretty great as is. Anyway, she says I can pass it around to those that might appreciate it. It's Jack/Daniel/Teal'c of course. Would you want me to send it to you?

I am easily amused.

True. And omg if either of them slept with Daniel, no one would get within three feet of him EVER AGAIN.

Do I want threesome porn? Yes! Always. Thank you! Princess_bunny@livejournal.com
